Assistant Instructor
JKN Derrick Bright
In 2005, at the age of forty+ (because you’re never too old!) I took up the practice of Kuk Sool Won. Now I have attained the rank of first degree Black Belt (Jo Kyo Nim).
My achievements so far include winning gold medals at both the European and UK championships along with a host of medals for other tournaments.
In my younger days, my first introduction to martial arts was Kendo, which I thoroughly enjoyed. One of the great things, for me, about Kuk Sool Won is that we use swords and other weapons as part of the discipline.
Some of my other interests include mountain climbing, fishing, badminton, rock and gemstone collecting. As you can see, sometimes it’s hard to fit them all in!
