School Tournament, 20th October

We held our popular annual School Tournament on the 20th of October. This year there were lots fantastic medals, plaques and trophies to be won which ensured a super turnout.
Top Student - Barry Slade
Men's Champion - Paul West
Women's Champion - Jemma Slade (tied with Lisa West, won on points)
Youth Champion - Dan New
Student of the Year - Mitch Gardiner
Best All Rounder - Matt Baker
Most Improved Boy - Ollie Green
Most Improved Girl - Sophie Tonkins
Prizes were presented by the 2007 Men's Champion - Robbie Cook and Cllr John Sayers.
Mrs Jackie Fairweather, the Manager of Suffolk Children's University (SCU), presented 25 junior students with their SCU Certificates for completing the training hours required to qualify. Each child also received a pen, pencil, ruler, bookmark and badge.
Lots of excited family and friends came to watch students compete in the following divisions:
Dragons: White belt form part 1, any 3 breakfalls and best 5 kick combo
White belts: White belt form parts 1-3, any 3 white belt techniques, any 3 breakfall combo
Yellow belts: White belt form parts 1-6, any 3 yellow belt techniques, any 3 breakfall combo
Blue belts: Yellow belt form, any 3 yellow belt techniques, any 3 breakfall combo
Red belts: Blue belt form, any 3 blue belt techniques, any 3 breakfall combo
Brown belts/DBN: Any form brown belt level and above, any 3 brown belt or above techniques, any 3 breakfall combo
Well done to all who attended!
A seperate Fight Night will be held later for the sparring competition.
